Inner Beauty

I’m in Week 8 of 12 with Personal Brand Accelerator. It’s honestly been an unexpectedly incredible experience. We’re split up into small groups. At the start of the course we had to come up with a group name. We came up with the name Mosaic.

Last week we decided to do weekly challenges for our own group. Our first challenge was to journal every day and to create a piece of content that revolves around the theme: Inner Beauty.

I took it as an opportunity to create a piece of art I was proud of.

Self portraits have always been a significant way for me to express myself. To share what’s inside me.

With this challenge, I wanted to create a multimedia piece that combined digital and analogue. I love mixing mediums when it comes to art that’s created for “online content”.

These self portraits show how I feel about beauty in relation to myself. Personally, I’ve felt it necessary to go by the philosophy of working with what I have when it comes to my appearance. To embellish – not to force change. As a teenager, I was insecure about my body. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve learnt to love it. And to appreciate it. Art helps me with that. Creating art out of what I have: my body, a camera, a laptop, Photoshop, a printer and a white oil pastel.
